Madder Lake Study

This print explores the effects of different lake pigment extraction procedures on the resulting color of the madder lake pigment. A lake pigment made from the synthetic component of madder root, alizarin, is contained in (1) as a reference. Annelise Gorensek-Benitez made lake pigments 2-6 in 2024-2025.
